Ghrelin-receptor agonist (growth-hormone releasing peptide)
GHRP-2
Oligopeptide GHS-R1a that increases GH secretion; also affects appetite signalling as a ghrelin-pathway ligand.
Primary Mechanism of Action
Clinical / Scientific
GHRP-2 activates GHS-R1a, releasing GH and, like ghrelin, can increase appetite via hypothalamic circuits. Cortisol/prolactin stimulation can be more noticeable than with ipamorelin.
Pathway Targets
GHS-R1a
Scientific explanation
GH secretagogue and orexigenic signalling.
Pathway Convergence
Clinical / Scientific
Target → pathway → downstream effect → biological consequence. This is a mechanistic map, not a treatment claim.

In Plain Language
GHRP-2 is an older ghrelin- trigger: more growth-hormone release, and often more hunger signalling, than some newer selective analogues.
